What Is Core Drilling & Anchoring?

Core drilling is a controlled method of cutting circular openings through reinforced concrete, slabs, beams and walls using diamond-tipped drill bits.
Anchoring is the installation of chemical or mechanical anchors to fix steel plates, brackets, machines or strengthening systems safely into the concrete.

Together, core drilling & anchoring allow us to add new utilities, openings and structural elements without damaging the existing building.

Where Do We Use It?

 

  • Openings for HVAC ducts, water pipes, drainage and electrical conduits

  • Passing new services through slabs, beams and shear walls

Our Core Drilling & Anchoring Process:

 

1. Site Survey & Assessment
We visit the site, review drawings and understand the purpose of every opening or anchor.

2. Scanning & Marking
Where required, we scan the concrete to avoid main reinforcement and hidden services, then mark exact drilling positions and anchor layouts.

3. Protection & Setup
We protect nearby finishes, install supports for the drilling rig and prepare water, power and slurry collection.

4. Core Drilling
Diamond core drilling with calibrated machines to achieve clean, accurate holes with minimal vibration and noise.

5. Anchor Installation
Installation of chemical or mechanical anchors as per designer specifications, including hole cleaning, resin injection or torqueing.

6. Testing & Clean Handover
Load tests where required, documentation of anchor types and locations, then thorough cleaning of the work area before handover.
